Washing and care are essential

It is important to wash and care for your dog because, firstly, it cleans it of dirt and bacteria. It thus helps to keep the dog healthy. However, it is also important because the hair strands themselves must be washed and cared for as well as nourished. It is therefore necessary to bathe the dog once in a while. The frequency of this is as needed, as it varies from breed to breed and, not least, from coat to coat.

Every dog ​​and coat has special needs, as well as possible challenges, and there is no product in washing and care that can do it all - they can each do something different. However, it is important that you use articles that have been developed for dogs, as those for humans, e.g. often contain perfume and have a pH value suitable for humans - not for dogs. Before you can get started

Find out what type of fur your dog has, as well as what it needs from washing and care. What you need to buy as a minimum is shampoo plus conditioner, but if there are several products in the series, it can be a great advantage to include them in the wash, as products from the same series work best together.

During washing

If you have a puppy that first needs to get used to being bathed or just one that doesn't like it, train with short washing trips so that it becomes comfortable and used to going for a bath, as well as being cared for with different articles. The main rule is to always keep a special eye on the dog's well-being during the entire process of washing and grooming.

When you wash a dog, go for a lukewarm water temperature before rinsing the whole body, but avoid the ears and eyes, as it can be uncomfortable for the dog - use a wet cloth instead. Then massage the care products well into the fur, after which the whole process is completed according to each individual's instructions.

Drying and care after washing

Depending on the temperature, place and plans after the dog has had a bath, you can consider which way you want to dry. There are several options here in the form of washcloths, towels, drying blankets and/or blowers.
