Grooming is most often associated with making the dog look nice. Of course, this is also part of what it contributes to, but it is far from the only and certainly not the main reason for taking care of the dog. With a well-groomed fur, it is both possible to avoid problems and to get some problems in advance. Poorly cared for fur can lead to parasites, fleas, scratches and wounds.

With grooming with a comb and brush, you can prevent your dog from getting matted fur. Here with us, however, you will not only find combs and brushes. We also have nail clippers and nail filers that may be needed for dogs that don't wear down their own nails when they walk. It is important that the dog keeps the nails down, especially as nails that are too long can start to hurt or cause irritation.

How often should the dog be groomed?

There is no definitive answer to that. Every dog ​​is different, and it makes a big difference whether you have a small terrier or a large Chow Chow. Of course, you will also have another need if it is a show dog. The best advice is that it is up to you and the dog of course. It is important that you take good care of the dog and make the grooming a pleasure for both of you. It is also important to point out that some dog breeds require more fur care with brushes and the like, so it is very important that you know what you are getting into when choosing a dog. We always advise to start grooming early, when the dog is a puppy, so that it gets used to it.

Grooming tables and hangers

When you groom your dog, it is a really good idea to get him/her up to a good height. This makes it much easier for you to get to, as you do not have to stand bent over the dog. When you are easier to get to, your dog will not be as irritable either. We suggest that you get the dog used to getting on the grooming table at an early age, so that he/she will not be nervous and uncomfortable during grooming.

You can also use them for more than just grooming, such as health checks or marking the dog for ticks. Every time you have to examine, groom or do something else with the dog, it will be incredibly nice to have them up at a good height.

Something we would like to remind you is that you must not leave your dog in a gallows for too long at a time, especially if it is not used to it. You should also never leave your dog when it is wearing a halter. Always pay attention to your dog. Comfort is most important, and if he/she feels uneasy, then it would be a good idea for you to trim, cut and whatever else you have to do in stages. This can get the dog used to relaxing more, and understanding that it will come down again.

Sinks and bathtubs

When the dog needs to be washed, it would be a really good idea to get it up to a good height. This can help you so that you don't have to bend down and risk the dog slipping away. Not all dogs are happy to be washed. Washing tables and bathtubs can therefore be a really good solution, as the dog will not slip through your legs, but instead be held somewhere.
